Grain Internship Job Description

• Grain Origination & Customer Relationships Farm Visits Collaborate with others on multi-department sales team to optimize customer relationships
• Calling Farmers Find buying opportunities
• Help producers construct custom marketing plan
• Indicate market news and trends to producers
• Understand bid sheet and flexibility in pricing/arbitrage opportunities
• Management of unsigned/undelivered contract confirmation list
• Sales of certain contracts as requested by manager based on current market conditions
• Complete farm visit reports
• Operations Assist operations team as necessary
• Understand mix and blend procedures
• Understand grading procedures and tables
• Safety Ensure safe work conditions Understand and demonstrate proper OSHA procedures
• Communication Communicate with manager regularly to review goals and producer information
• Communicate with accounting team to instruct on contracting and hauling information
• Communicate with operations team to ensure legendary customer service at the grain facilities
• Communicate with logistics team to ensure grain is being moved efficiently
• Teamwork Maintain a positive attitude at all times (especially when others are discouraged)
• Bring any concerns/conflicts with coworkers to manager instead of peers
